Hi everyone!
My name is Ella Marshall and I’m currently studying Paramedic Science at Liverpool John Moores University – I’ve just finished my second year and I’m incredibly passionate about using my skills to support communities in need.
This August 2025 I’ve been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Uganda with the Charity Knowledge for Change for a month to volunteer in a local clinic in Fort Portal. I’ll be working alongside local healthcare professionals to support the community by assisting with day-to-day clinical care, triage, wound management, health education, and more. Fort Portal is a beautiful but underserved area, and this experience will not only help develop my skills as a future paramedic, but also allow me to give something back to a community that truly needs it while learning first-hand about global healthcare challenges.
This isn’t a holiday — it’s a chance to be part of something meaningful, to give back, and to grow as both a future paramedic and a human being. I’ll be funding the majority of the trip myself, but I’m reaching out for a bit of help to cover some of the costs like flights, accommodation, vaccinations, and essential medical supplies I’ll be taking with me.
If you can donate, even just a small amount, it would mean the world. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing this with others would be just as appreciated.
Every single donation – no matter how small – will make a huge difference. If you can’t donate, a simple share would mean just as much.
I’m so grateful for this opportunity and promise to keep everyone updated throughout the trip with photos, videos, and honest reflections on what it’s like working on the front line of healthcare in a different part of the world.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting me on this journey
Ella x
