Research Ocean Toxins & Plastics for Solutions
I was tired of hearing about the plastic problems and seeing no real solutions. I want to know the truth and give opportunities to my design students to create solutions. I was thrilled to be offered a place on one leg of the exxpedition voyage that is investigating plastics and toxins in our oceans around the world. Female professionals are using the voyage to learn, connect, and raise awareness. We want to make the unseen seen. Unseen women, unseen toxins, unseen solutions.
Working together, we CAN make a difference.
My expenses are as follows:
£4,800 (aprox. $8000 CAD) Exxpedition fee for 12 days
I must raise £1,500 GBP before September 1st, 2019 to secure my place on board. The remainder I will pay in installments through out the year.
Plus,
(aprox. $2000 CAD) Flights to and from the voyage.
My leg of the voyage will happen from July 17 to 28, 2020. We will leave from the Great Barrier Reef at Port Douglas, Australia and sail across to Darwin.
I currently live in Japan, teaching design and art and working as a planning coordinator at an international school. I am married with two beautiful sons whom I want to give a hope and a future to.
