Help me in my volunteer trip to Africa!

Hi everyone! My name is Laia Solé, and I am the Lead Tutor in the Early Intervention Class at Tiddlywinks and Scallywags Preschool in Maynooth.

In August, I will be going to Africa to volunteer in an orphanage in Kenya through Tumaini NGO, with Imani Rehabilitation Agency. It is a non-profit making organisation that provides care and protection, rehabilitates, educates, provides primary health care and reintegrates the orphans and vulnerable children in the community.

The house I will be volunteering in is located in Nairobi, and they support over 80 children aged from 0 to 16 years old. Some of those children have different special needs such as autism or cerebral paralysis.

Imani’s vision is to contribute into society in which all children will be able to live in dignified existence, with equal and right opportunities in life.

Imani´s goal is to see a successful child.

Imani´s mission is to improve the situation of children in need of care and provide them protection.

As you are all aware, organisations like this one, really struggle to cover all the needs of those children at risk. Some people have already support by donating different items that the organisation will really benefit from, such as:

With this fundraising I am looking for cash donations to help the organisation be able to cover the needs of those children.

In case there are so many clothes or different item donations, I won´t be able to bring them with me to Kenya, so I will also use the cash donations to cover part of the shipping costs of sending everything over.
