As many of you know, I participated in an event Sunday to help the victims of the condo fire who lost everything. The very first person I helped was an elderly woman named Roberta. She lost literally everything. She has no family. She's staying at Sleepy's Motel because insurance will only cover so much of a nice hotel. She can't get her car to the dealership to get keys made because her keyfobs melted in the fire, but the dealership needs her car to make them. She says she hates walking on the motel floor. She bought a cell phone and can't figure out how to work it. Y'all I need to help this poor lady. I'm hoping we can raise enough money to get her car towed to the dealership for her so she can get keys made and get her car and some independence back sooner than later. I'd also love to set her up in a nice hotel for a week. We only had so many clothes that fit her so I planned to go get her some things she could really use right now, like socks and underwear. Some comfy pants, pajamas, maybe a comforter and some rugs to make her room feel a little more homey and less like a motel while she's there. Maybe a microwave and some food? I haven't fully thought it though yet, but I can't even sleep because I can't stop thinking about her. Please help me help Roberta! All monies donated will go to her and if we get extra, we will add it to the monies being distributed to the tenants! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
