Help us raise the self-worth of our fellow neighbors and take the first step to assisting those who are unsheltered in Los Angeles. We need YOUR help to raise money so we can create and distribute these care-filled backpacks to those who need it.
LA is one of the largest and most diverse metropolitan cities in the world. It is a place we have all called our home and it is truly dear to our hearts. However, there is an issue I want to address with you today.
Los Angeles makes up 1/5 of all unsheltered people in the United States. Sadly 60,000 Angelenos are homeless in LA today, with people of color and the elderly making up a majority of that group. And the truth is, it is growing at an alarming rate and will continue to do so if we do not act.
Like any great change, it starts with small steps and the unifying of our community. That is why we have decided to start this campaign and raise money to give back to the unsheltered.
Employing a genuine approach to homelessness will take time and resources, but I know, together, we can do this. The results will create a healthier community, and a better future for all of us.
By gifting them with a care-filled backpack, we will be able to allow the unsheltered to see themselves as equal members of our society and empower them to assist in their own independence. This gift will contain all the essentials needed to maintain their physical health which will also contribute to their mental well being.
Each care-filled pack provides the following items: flashlight, first aid kit, tarp, rain poncho, sunscreen, beanie, gloves, socks, wool blanket, soap, deodorant, washcloths, lip balm, shaving cream, razors, toothbrush & toothpaste, dental floss & mouthwash and shampoo & conditioner.
As we continue this campaign and meet our goal. We will continue to increase the number of backpacks we can make and distribute.
Any little bit of money helps. Even sharing this on your social media or in group chats goes a long way.
