My mom is being forced out of the only home she’s ever known - the house I grew up in - because of a family dispute over money. Although she has made every mortgage payment on this home for over two decades, my aunt, whose name is on the deed, has issued her an eviction notice (my aunt never took an interest in the house until this, when she wants money). My aunt is now trying to sell the house for her own financial gain, disregarding everything my mom has invested - emotionally and financially - for her own greedy ambitions.

What makes this even more heartbreaking is that my mom is 73 and dealing with serious heart issues that have affected her ability to work like she used to. Despite everything, she still shows up for others with kindness and grace. She’s always been the one to give, and now she’s the one who needs help.

I’m raising funds to help her fight this legally - to make sure she has representation and a fair chance at keeping her home, or at the very least, securing the majority of the proceeds if the house is sold. She deserves that much after everything she’s put into this home.
