Hi, my name is Cherry. I’m a single mom raising three children, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest moments of my life.

In December 2025, my 16-year-old son was hit by a truck while crossing the street. He required surgery and has been recovering ever since. During that time, I stayed by his side to care for him, and I lost my job as a result. I’m currently still in school and doing everything I can to support my children, but financially, things have been extremely difficult.

Today, I received a call from my adult son in Winnipeg. My mom is in the hospital with serious health complications and is fighting to hang on. She is unable to speak and is receiving oxygen and other care. I am devastated, and I need to get to her. I just want to go home.

I want to be there—to hold her hand, to tell her I love her, to not let distance be the reason I miss this time with her.

Right now, I simply don’t have the means to travel. I would need to arrange childcare for my two children at home (ages 16 and 7), and bring my 16-month-old with me. I am hoping to raise funds for:

• A flight to Winnipeg

• A return flight home

• Childcare while I am away

• Basic travel expenses during this urgent trip

If I’m able to make it there, I will also be visiting my 97-year-old grandmother, whose health is also declining due to dementia.

This is not easy for me to ask, but I truly don’t want to miss the chance to be with my mom while she is still here.
