Help Me Bury My Mom In Florida Next To Her Parents

My name is Alesha, and I am facing one of the hardest moments of my life. My mother, Sharron, is dying in a hospital in Florida, and I am thousands of miles away in Las Vegas with no way to get to her. I am having extreme financial hard times and the doctors have just told me she only has a matter of days left—she’s throwing up blood, her liver is shutting down, and she’s refusing to eat. I am desperate to be by her side before it’s too late, but I simply don’t have the means to make the trip on my own.

**UPDATE: Sadly, l did not make it in time. I have so much guilt and so many regrets. I wish I started this GoFundMe sooner but I didn't realize she would leave us so fast. When my Dad told me days, I figured many of them. I mean there's 30 days in a month. I didn't understand the severity of days meaning less than a week. I now have to go bury her in Florida and still need help getting there. I can't fail her twice. Please if you can find it in your heart to help, I'd be forever grateful.

My mother means everything to me. She raised me, loved me unconditionally, and always put her children first. She was my first home, my protector, and my greatest source of strength. The thought of her dying alone in a hospital breaks me. She deserves love and comfort in her final moments, and I need to be there to hold her hand, to remind her how deeply she is loved.

I have siblings who live much closer, but for their own reasons, they haven’t been there for her—not when she was well, and not now when she needs them most. That leaves me, alone, trying to do everything I can to make sure she doesn’t face this final journey without someone who truly cares by her side.

I am absolutely terrified of flying, so I have no choice but to drive. My only option is my GMC Yukon XL, which is a gas guzzler and needs an oil change to safely make the trip. Gas alone will cost over $1,000 one way. Servicing my SUV will cost about $130 if nothing else major is needed. The cheapest motels I’ve found are around $50 per night, but I plan to drive as much as I can safely and sleep at rest stops when possible to save money. I’ve estimated food at about $20 per day.

The cost of an emergency one-way drive is approximately around $1,600 to cover gas, vehicle maintenance, lodging, and food. But my goal is $4,500 to get back home and to cover any unexpected expenses while I navigate this heartbreaking situation.
