Hi, I’m Eloise. I’m 18 years old and I’ve been given the opportunity of a lifetime — to take part in an international expedition to Kenya with the The Scout Association as part of Essex Scouts.
I’ve been a Scout since I was 10, and it has shaped who I am — building my confidence, leadership skills, and passion for helping others. This expedition isn’t a holiday; it’s a two-week project supporting partner schools in Kenya. I’ll be helping in classrooms, assisting teachers, and coaching sports in communities that lack the resources many of us take for granted.
The total cost of the trip is £3,700, and I need to raise £1,050 by the end of May for my first instalment. I’m fundraising and saving as much as I can, but I come from a large, low-income family where my parents already work incredibly hard just to cover the basics. Funding this alone simply isn’t possible.
Growing up in a deprived town has meant many opportunities felt out of reach. This isn’t just about travelling — it’s about breaking barriers, giving back, and proving that your background doesn’t define your future.
Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey
