Hi Family!

If you know me, you know that I have a profound connection with, and love for my son Caleb. I mean from the very date of his birth, almost 13 years ago, our connection has been strong. And in those 13 years we have experienced things that have stretched me as a dad and as a man. But these experiences, as trying as they often have been, have caused our bond to strengthen.

This past June Caleb went to live in Texas with his mother. While this was something we agreed upon, the distance has nonetheless caused us both a bit of sorrow. As a dad, my desire is to give my son a better fatherhood experience than what I experienced. I’m all too familiar with the pain of growing up without my father. I am committed to being present emotionally and financially. But what true father would be ok to not be present physically?

I have made the decision to move to Texas to be as close to my son as possible during his formative years. While I had originally planned to save up in order to move, it will likely take me 2-3 years to do this myself. It is very difficult for me to ask others for help, especially financial help. But I know from personal experience how much a boy needs his father as he enters his teenage years. So I’m pushing through my hang-ups and asking for help.

I need to come up with $12,000 to cover the costs of relocating to the San Antonio area, which includes Travel Cost for myself and Snowflake (Caleb’s Dog), moving, rent/down payment, etc… Would you consider making a one-time gift to help me get to Texas as soon as possible?
