Amazon Rainforest Volunteer Trip

My name is Alexis. I am a wildlife biology student at a 4-year university in Michigan. All my life, I've wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. To be the difference I wanted to see. Shortly after, I discovered a love for travel. A love for new experiences. A love for learning about other cultures and ways of life. I also discovered RAREC (Rainforest Awareness Rescue and Education Center.)

RAREC is a non-profit wildlife rescue organization located in the Amazon Rainforest about an hour from Iquitos, Peru. They work with local communities to rescue and rehabilitate confiscated or injured species for future release. They also house a research facility for Amazonian wildlife, with the goal of protecting existing wildlife populations.

In August of 2024, I will be volunteering at RAREC for 2 weeks of discovery.
