Help Me Support My Dad, Jack Jackson — A Loving Father in Hospice Care

Hi, my name is Kylie Jackson Edgeman, most know me as Elle, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help.

My father, Jack Jackson, 67 years old, graduated from Enid High in 1976, previously a UAW General Motors Member for 47 years, and OU Ruffnek, is currently in hospice care in Poway, California, after suffering a devastating stroke. This stroke has left him unable to care for himself or make critical decisions about his medical or financial future. It’s been incredibly painful to see the strongest man I know in such a vulnerable state.

I'm his daughter, and I live in Oklahoma — far from his side. The distance makes this situation even more heartbreaking. I want nothing more than to be there with him, to hold his hand and advocate for him, but the cost of traveling back and forth from Oklahoma to California is more than I can manage on my own right now.

On top of that, without legal power of attorney, I can't make the medical and financial decisions he urgently needs someone to handle on his behalf. I’m doing everything I can to protect him, but I need legal support to move forward.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. I’m raising funds for two critical things:

1. To hire an attorney who can help me obtain power of attorney for both medical and financial matters.

2. To travel to see Jack in Poway, CA, again — to be by his side during this incredibly fragile time, and to ensure that he is cared for with love, dignity, and respect.

I never imagined I’d be in a position like this — trying to navigate legal red tape while facing the emotional toll of a parent in hospice. But I know I’m not alone, and I believe in the power of prayer and a compassionate community.
