Just to start with, this is very difficult for me to write. I hate asking for help, but I'm afraid at this point if I don't, I will lose all that is dear to me. So, where to begin....
Most every one knows that my family has been going through a crazy time lately. And by crazy time, I mean absolute HELL. CPS was called on us a couple months ago, for accusations of neglect and drug use. The decision from accusations was not to remove anyone from the home, but instead just put a safety plan in place where until the case was closed. My boyfriend couldn't be alone with kids because they aren't legally his. The case was closed shortly after.
Tuesday, July 9 while I was at work, CPS knocked on our door once again. Claimed they received another call that raised alarm. Accusations included one of my kids having access to a loaded gun and domestic violence. Both accusations are completely absurd. Dean was home with my boyfriend. The CPS workers saw Dean, checked him out, briefly interviewed my boyfriend, spoke to me on the phone and explained they saw no need to remove Dean and that my actual case worker would contact me the next day, but this should be an open and shut case.
The next day the CPS worker came and immediately painted me the bad guy. Stated that my previous CPS worker didn't do her job correctly and she is now here cleaning up the mess. I had to call an OSAR place while the CPS worker sat in front of me and when I was asked to leave a message I explained that I couldn't. Another woman came on the phone and stated that they never received the paperwork from CPS therefore that is why we never got a call back. That was not our fault, but we are being blamed. The CPS lady stated that since my older kids are with their dad for the summer that was fine, but Dean had to leave the home within the hour. He is currently residing with my sister. She is feeding him, buying him clothes and whatever he needs. I've offered to give her money and she has refused it. She is truly my lifesaver right now. So Dean is gone until testing is redone which, according to the attorney, we should not have to do, and I'm not sure what else because she wasn't specific on anything. I don't know if anyone has ever had to do hair tests, but they cut CHUNKS of hair, and I don't do drugs AT ALL. My hair is still short in the spots from a few months back!
Anyways, I decided enough is enough and this woman is a bully. I found an attorney to fight CPS for us and get our family back to normal. He said we should have to go through this Hell again and he can help. But we all know attorneys are not cheap. This attorney is going to cost me $2,500 down before hell start and then $300 an hour after that. The attorney is confident he can get my case closed instead of the "unable to determine" like last time, which is apparently a loop hole to reopen so quickly. And I'm ready for this nightmare to be over. I had a different attorney I was planning to use, but there was a conflict of interest so he is unable.
My kids have always lived with me. I have fought against everyone, and been awarded my kids each and Every time my ex-husband tried proving me unfit. This situation is an extremely though. The thought of losing them permentantly is killing me, and I'm struggling in a way most people can't see because I do great at putting on a smiling face so I can "fake it til i make it". Dean knows no man or dad other than Rueben. It is killing them both to be away from each other right now. He can have ZERO contact with any of them until this gets closed because, again, they aren't legally his.
Again, I hate asking for help, but our broken family has been trying to heal itself, and just when we think everything was going to be okay, CPS came to wreck house once again. Please help me get my family back in our home Where everyone belongs... TOGETHER!
