Hi, my name is Janice.

Over the years, I’ve experienced homelessness myself—six times in total, the last time being in 2007 for nine long months. I know what it’s like to go hungry and receive food that was already picked over—or even headed for the trash. That experience has stayed with me, and I’ve made it my mission to serve others going through the same struggle.

Twelve years ago, I moved to Olympia and found a church that felt like home. Since then, I've been actively serving the community with love, faith, and food—prepared by me, funded by me, and delivered by me.

At the beginning of 2024, God placed it on my heart to begin feeding the Drexel Shelter once a month. These meals are made entirely by me.

There are 16 men at the shelter who have no income or food stamps. But as more people asked for help, I expanded to make 25 full meal bags each time. With God’s help, I’ve never missed a month.

Sometimes I also make special bags for individuals God leads me to—and even buy warm meals from restaurants for people in need.

I believe in loving others the way Jesus loves me—with compassion, generosity, and dignity.

With God’s guidance, I began organizing with families to prepare fresh meals. I even wrote a proposal for the first time, and it was a success—families started bringing delicious, home-cooked meals to give out.

This past Thanksgiving (2024), I asked my group for support and was able to make 83 full meal bags, thanks to donations and some pre-cooked food I was blessed to receive.

Now, I’m asking for your help—to support this mission for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2025.

Groceries and supplies

Disposable containers, utensils, napkins

Drinks, snacks, and fruit

Possibly warm clothing items if enough is raised
