Help Me Continue My Fight to Stay With My Family

Eight months in immigration detention changed my life forever.

I went to an immigration appointment in Chicago believing that I was doing the right thing by complying with the process. I never imagined that I would be detained that day and separated from my family.

For eight months, I lived with uncertainty while my wife and daughter had to continue their lives without me. I missed ordinary moments that I once took for granted: being home, sharing a meal with my family, hearing my daughter’s voice, and simply being there for the people I love.

After eight long months, I was finally released on bond.

Coming home and seeing my family again was one of the most emotional moments of my life. After everything we had endured, being able to hug my wife and daughter again felt like getting a piece of my life back.

But being home does not mean that the journey is over.

My immigration and asylum case is still ongoing, and I now need to continue my legal defense.

During the previous stage of this journey, generous people who believed in our family helped us raise $2,000 toward my legal expenses. We are deeply grateful for every person who donated, shared our story, prayed for us, or simply offered words of encouragement.

Those contributions helped us move forward.

Today, however, there is still an $8,000 balance remaining for my legal representation.

That is the purpose of this campaign.

I am raising $8,000 to help pay the remaining legal fees associated with my immigration and asylum case and allow my attorney to continue representing me through the next stages of this process.

This is not simply about paying a bill. For my family, having legal representation means having the opportunity to properly present my case and continue navigating a complicated immigration process with professional guidance.

I know that times are difficult for many families, and I do not take anyone’s generosity for granted. If you are able to contribute, every dollar matters. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, community, or social media can be just as meaningful.

Ayúdame a continuar mi lucha legal y permanecer junto a mi familia

Ocho meses.

Ese fue el tiempo que permanecí detenido en un centro de detención migratoria, separado de mi esposa, de mi familia y de la vida que había construido con tanto esfuerzo.

Todo comenzó cuando me presenté a una cita de inmigración en Chicago. Fui porque creía que cumplir con el proceso era lo correcto. Nunca imaginé que ese día sería detenido y que no podría regresar a casa con mi familia.

Durante ocho meses viví con incertidumbre, miedo y la angustia de no saber cuándo volvería a abrazar a mi esposa y a mi hija. Mientras tanto, mi familia tuvo que continuar adelante sin mí, enfrentando también las consecuencias económicas y emocionales de mi detención.

Después de ocho largos meses, finalmente fui puesto en libertad bajo fianza.

Regresar a casa y volver a abrazar a mi familia fue uno de los momentos más emocionantes de mi vida. Después de tantos meses de encierro, poder caminar nuevamente por mi propia casa, compartir con mi esposa y estar presente para mi hija fue una bendición que nunca olvidaré.

Pero mi libertad no significa que el proceso haya terminado.

Mi caso migratorio y mi solicitud de asilo continúan.

Ahora cuento con representación legal y mi abogada está trabajando en los siguientes pasos de mi caso. Debido a los meses que permanecí detenido y a las dificultades económicas que enfrentamos durante ese tiempo, todavía tengo un saldo pendiente de $8,000 por mi representación legal.

Por eso estamos creando esta campaña.

Nuestro objetivo es recaudar $8,000 para cubrir el saldo restante de los honorarios legales y poder continuar mi defensa durante las próximas etapas del proceso migratorio.

Durante la etapa anterior de este camino, personas maravillosas nos ayudaron a recaudar $2,000 para afrontar parte de estos gastos. A cada persona que donó, compartió nuestra historia, oró por nosotros o simplemente nos envió un mensaje de esperanza: gracias de todo corazón.

Su ayuda contribuyó a que pudiera avanzar hasta este momento.

Ahora necesito dar el siguiente paso.
