Hi, my name is Britany, and I’m the mum of Nyan – a bright, sensitive, and amazing five-year-old boy who happens to be autistic.
We lost Nyan’s dad, Rohan, two years ago. Since then, it’s been just me and my son. I have been Nyan’s full-time carer since birth — the person who knows his routines, his sensory needs, and how to support him when the world feels overwhelming. While my partner (Rohan) and I shared financial responsibilities, I was, and have always been, the one providing day-to-day care for our son.
After Rohan sadly passed away, a GoFundMe was created by a member of his family — in Nyan’s name. I appreciated the gesture at the time, but unfortunately, that money has never been made available to me or to Nyan. To make things harder for me the page falsely stated that Rohan was Nyan’s primary carer. This was not true, and it’s been incredibly painful to be excluded from a campaign that was meant to support my son — especially during such a vulnerable and difficult time.
This fundraiser is for Nyan. Directly. And genuinely.
Nyan has unique needs. He eats a very limited diet due to sensory and texture issues, and much of what he can eat is expensive. He struggles with emotional regulation and requires sensory tools, toys, and support equipment that we simply can’t afford on Universal Credit.
We are also moving into a new home and are in urgent need of essentials:
• Flooring
• A working stove
• Bedding and storage
• Basic home safety upgrades for nyan’s needs
I’m doing this on my own. As I know many others mothers can relate, I’m doing it for him. And I’m asking for help.
I know times are tough for many, but if you can donate, share this fundraiser, or just send some kind words, you’ll be helping to provide Nyan with the stability and care he deserves. Every single donation will go directly to him and the things that keep his world calm, safe, and supported.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With love,
Britany.
