Sustainable Community Hall in Borneo with CAUKIN Studio
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I'm Natalie a third-year architecture student :) !
This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to collaborate with CAUKIN Studio and Friends of Nature, People, and Forests (FNPF) to design and construct a multi-purpose Aula in Central Kalimantan, Borneo! This space will serve as a hub for environmental education, workshops, and community gatherings, supporting FNPF’s efforts in conservation and sustainable tourism.
For 8 weeks I will be volunteering in a remote jungle near the Sekonyer River, Jerumbun designing an Aula with eco-friendly materials, renewable energy solutions and ensuring a low environmental impact. Our team will work closely with the local community, exchanging skills and knowledge to create a structure that benefits both locals and visitors for years to come.
This project is deeply connected to my passion for architecture that drives positive change, and I’m eager to contribute while learning from the community. However, I need your support to help bring this vision to life! Your donation will go towards fees, construction materials and labor costs.
Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference in building a space that fosters education, sustainability, and community empowerment. Thank you so much for being part of my journey!
Peace and love, Natalie.
