My name is Cameron, and I’m a father fighting to be reunited with my daughter after four years apart.
In 2020, during a difficult time in my marriage, my mother took my daughter out of California on what was supposed to be a short trip to Ohio. She never brought her back. In March 2025, she was awarded custody in an Ohio court after I was told I could appear for the trial via Zoom — but when the day came, I was locked out for not filing a form I was never told I needed. I never got to present my side, my evidence, or my ability to care for my child. The original decision was based on information I can now prove was false, and this evidence has never been presented in court.
Since then, I’ve built a stable home in California with my wife and two younger children. I have steady employment as a Park Services Worker and a strong support system. I’ve taken parenting classes, stayed in contact with my daughter as much as possible, and done everything I can to be the father she deserves.
My first custody modification hearing is on August 13th, 2025 in Franklin County, Ohio. This will be the start of what could be a 6–12 month process, depending on how many hearings, filings, and court dates are required. Your support will not only help me secure strong legal representation for the initial hearing, but also cover the costs of continuing the fight until a final decision is made.
Why I Need Your Help
Interstate custody cases are complex and expensive. I need an experienced Ohio family law attorney who can:
• Vacate or modify the existing custody order
• Present new evidence and disprove old falsehoods
• Show the court my current stability and ability to parent
• Argue for increased parenting time or full custody in my daughter’s best interest
Estimated Costs:
• Attorney retainer: $10,000–$15,000
• Hourly legal fees through trial: $200–$350/hour
• Court and filing fees: $300+
• Travel to Ohio for hearings: $1,500–$2,000 per trip
• Possible expert witnesses: $500–$2,000
Goal: $25,000
Every dollar will go toward legal representation, court costs, and the travel required to be present for my daughter in court.
If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with friends, family, or anyone who believes in keeping children connected with loving, capable parents.
Thank you for standing with me. This fight isn’t just about winning a case — it’s about giving my daughter the love, stability, and family she deserves.
