Help Me Bring Back Shannons Smile!

Donation protected
I realize that there are many different GoFundMe and charities out there that are asking for your donations, but if you could just take a minute to look at this, I would appreciate it as it is close to my heart.

If you have not met her, let me introduce you to my sister Shannon Winter. She is a single mom with 2 beautiful children; Dominyk is 13, and Malayna "Laynie" is 6. Her children mean everything to her, but even with limitations she does everything in her power to make sure they are happy, healthy and excited about life! Any time she is free she always has her nieces, and nephew, friends and neighborhood kids over to play, paint, swim, and just laugh! Which isn't always easy with her health conditions.

Shannon was diagnosed with Severe Degenerative Scoliosis at age 17. It causes daily pain and discomfort doing every day things that you and I take for granted. But after a decade of spine treatments, physical therapy, and swim exercise Shannon decided to stop the use of the very addictive pain medications she was on, and instead takes an alternative replacement with muscle relaxants. This was the beginning of dental issues that she now faces. Her prescription causes dry mouth and although she uses Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash her teeth began to crack and fall out! But even though this caused her constant toothache and pain she still focused on helping others. She became a sponsor for other women facing pain pill addictions and she went back to college to earn a degree in Software Engineering with a minor in Substance Use Disorder Counseling. She volunteers twice a week at the Bishop's Store House and Homeless Shelter in Provo. She is always helping others and tries to do everything on her own.

Although she lives in pain daily, you never hear her complain and she rarely asks for help.

On Nov 28th, after Thanksgiving, Shannon had surgery on her heart. Her doctor performed an emergency procedure placing a stent in her heart to repair a blood vessel. She now has to take 2 heart medications daily, one of which causes a side effect - you guessed It! Dry mouth. ☹

It seems like such a small issue, but because she doesn't have Dental insurance, she can only get her teeth removed once they have broken apart. Next week she is getting 2 more teeth removed, leaving her with only 5 teeth on top and 4 on the bottom. I wish my family and I could afford to buy her new teeth but implants are expensive, and she will most likely need dentures which are also out of our price range.

Please, please, help me bring back Shannons smile! I can't think of anyone more deserving and loving.
