Help Me Be By My Mother's Side During Her Battle with Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Weza, and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart. I am the eldest daughter of a beautiful, strong woman named Julieta, who is currently battling ovarian cancer in Luanda, Angola.

Fifteen years ago, as a young girl, I was sent to Canada to pursue my education and build a better life for my family. My mother's sacrifice was driven by love and hope for a brighter future. In those years, life has taken me on a long and difficult journey, and despite my greatest wishes, I have not been able to return home. My mother and I have not embraced in over a decade.

Today, I find myself in a moment of deep urgency and helplessness. My mother’s health has taken a devastating turn, and she is fighting this illness with limited resources, far from the care and support she truly needs. I have younger sisters at home trying to stay strong, but this burden is too heavy to bear alone.

I am my mother’s only source of emotional support, financial support, and just help in whatever way I can. I am desperate to return to Angola to be by her side, to care for her in these critical days, and to support my sisters through this unimaginable chapter in our lives.
