On January 26, 2026, my life changed overnight when the ground beneath my home in Allentown, PA suddenly collapsed. What should have been a safe place for me and my daughter quickly became unsafe, and we have not been able to return home since.
Since that day, we’ve been displaced—living with uncertainty and trying to figure out how to move forward while still holding onto hope that we can go back home one day.
After a professional investigation, I was told that the ground beneath my home is unstable and needs to be repaired through a process called pressure grouting before it can be considered safe again. The cost of this repair is overwhelming—tens of thousands of dollars.
To make matters even harder, the insurance company representing the local water authority has denied responsibility, and my homeowner’s insurance does not cover this type of damage. This has left me in a position where I am still responsible for my mortgage, while also facing repair costs I simply cannot afford.
I have also explored legal options in hopes of finding a path forward. Unfortunately, I’ve been advised that due to the complexities involved—particularly regarding municipal liability—it may be very difficult to pursue a claim in this situation. While I respect the legal guidance I’ve received, it has left me with very limited options and without a clear path to recover the costs needed to make my home safe again.
As a mother, all I want is to be able to provide a safe and stable home for my daughter again. Right now, that feels so far out of reach.

El 26 de enero de 2026, mi vida cambió de un día para otro cuando el terreno debajo de mi casa en Allentown, PA colapsó repentinamente. Lo que siempre fue un lugar seguro para mí y para mi hija, dejó de ser habitable, y desde entonces no hemos podido regresar a nuestro hogar.
Desde ese día, hemos estado desplazadas, viviendo con incertidumbre y tratando de encontrar una solución mientras seguimos con la esperanza de poder regresar a casa algún día.

Como madre, lo único que deseo es poder darle a mi hija un hogar seguro y estable nuevamente. En este momento, eso parece estar fuera de mi alcance.
Estoy pidiendo ayuda para poder estabilizar el terreno de mi casa y así regresar con mi hija de manera segura. Cualquier donación, por pequeña que sea, significa muchísimo para nosotras.
