Hi my name is C_____ and I'm better known on the SA forums and elsewhere as mdemone. I'm a high school physics & astronomy teacher in Rochester NY.

In early November 2021, my wife filed for divorce unexpectedly. Our house loan was in her name and she is asking market price (++) for me to purchase it from her. I can only keep my kids (not hers) in their childhood home if I can manage to secure a loan that will cover it.

Toward that end, I'm scraping every bit of value from my life in order to make a down payment. Cashed out retirement funds (about 1k, lol) -- sold my old videogames (less than that, lmao) -- and scouring the place for anything else to pile up.

I'm only really writing this because I'm at the end of my rope. I'm already losing the love of my life, so I have to keep my children safe somehow.
