Help Mckenna's Dream Come True
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kirsten. I am raising funds for my daughter Mckenna who dreams about being adopted by her stepfather.
About 11 years ago, at 19 years old, I was in an unhealthy relationship and had just had my first child. I knew things had to be different. Mckenna and I moved away from that relationship to live with family to get a fresh start. For more than seven years, her biological father chose not to communicate with her. For me, it was a time of growth, and I found healing through faith from those times.
Four years ago, I met a man who, little did I know, would change my world forever. My husband, Eli, and I met on March 19, 2018. We felt unbelievable chemistry from the very start. At their first meeting, Mckenna fell in love with her (step)daddy. Eli and I got married one year later. Ever since that day, she has wanted to become "Mckenna Kelley." She even had a notebook she kept at school where she doodled 'Mckenna Kelley' all over it.
Mckenna and I were on our own for seven years until Eli came into our lives. We have a beautiful family of four, and Mckenna is blessed to be a big sister to her now two-year-old sister, Talia. In the last few years, I've watched the relationship between father and daughter blossom into something I could never have imagined for her.
Our family stands at the crossroad of doing what is right by creating a firm foundation for Mckenna's happiness. Mckenna's biological father decided to stay out of her life by never calling or visiting. We were lucky to get any kind of support from him. I chose to forgive him the $30,000 child support debt in the act of grace over his situation.
Her 12th birthday is coming up in a few months, and we want so much to make her dream come true. I was adopted by my stepfather when I was 12 years old. We went to the courthouse on the final day and afterward had family pictures taken. I will never forget it. I plan to do the same for her when the adoption is completed.
Thank you so much for your time and for reading our story. We hope that it blesses your heart! We are very grateful for any amount you can share. Thank you, and have a blessed day.
