Help McCandless Township Get a New K-9
Donation protected
We are reaching out to our community to collect donations that will support McCandless Township in acquiring a new K-9 unit following the unfortunate passing of K-9 Siraly.
Darren and I have the privilege of knowing Bryan Madden, a retired McCandless Township police officer and the handler of the township’s first K-9 unit, Joy. Bryan played a crucial role in selecting and training a successor for Joy after his retirement. Bryan is deeply committed to the continuation of the K-9 program, which he considers his legacy. Bryan plans to present all donations at an upcoming town meeting to have the contributions officially recorded with the township. Additionally, Bryan plans to personally make up for any shortfall to ensure the program continues, which is why this GoFundMe page was created to support his fundraising efforts and help meet the goal of acquiring the new dog.
When setting up this GoFundMe page, we were unable to select a related charity from the list GoFundMe provides, as no such charity currently exists for this specific cause. For those concerned about the donation being recognized as a charitable contribution for tax purposes, we kindly suggest making your contribution directly to the township rather than through this platform. Either way, your support makes a meaningful difference!
The total cost of acquiring the new dog is $14,500. We encourage everyone that is willing to participate to make their donation before February 15th, as the township has expressed to Bryan that they are eager to move forward! Your support means so much as we come together to make a positive impact on our community!
