Help Mayada and her Family Survive

Donation protected
Hi Everyone! My name is Kory, and I am helping to raise funds for my dear friend, Mayada and her family. Mayada and I met through a mutual American friend who connected us on Instagram. Mayada is a kind, thoughtful and passionate single mother who is also the primary caregiver for her parents. It is an honor for me to help her and her family survive this nightmare and raise funds for her father to receive the medical care he needs to ease his suffering.

Please read Mayada's story and choose to support this incredible woman who is doing everything she can to help her family survive and save money to pay for the care her father will need once it's available.

Like millions of other people surviving the nightmare in Gaza, Mayada and her family have lost everything and have been displaced several times in search of safety. They have no income, no home, few belongings and live in extreme & harsh conditions I do not exaggerate when I say that every day they face violence, depression, malnutrition and painful illness.

Mayada lives with her adorable son, Rawid, who is 16 months old along with her mother and father. They currently live in a tent in Mawasi Khan Yunis with hundreds of thousands of other displaced people. Recent evacuations from the north and west have pushed more people into this very small coastal area making limited resources even more scarce.

Due to the bombardment of incoming aid & supplies and the concentration of displaced persons, food and basic supplies are very hard to find and if available, cost sometimes 50 times their normal prices. A 25kg of flour is priced around $20 USD. Diapers are over $50 USD. Mayada uses a cloth for Rawid because diapers are a luxury she cannot afford. Fresh fruits and vegetables are too high a price and her entire family suffers from malnutrition. As you know, when the body lacks nutrition, it cannot heal properly.

What remains of the healthcare system in Gaza is focused primarily on emergency response. therefore, people who require care for chronic diseases or illness have no place to go to receive care and pain relief. Mayada's father, Samer, is a diabetic who had a stroke four years ago. Since the stroke, he has suffered from partial paralysis in his feet and must use a wheelchair. He has also now lost his all of his teeth. Under normal circumstances, life for Samer would be challenging; now, it's extremely difficult and painful and his symptoms have only worsened.

My strong and beautiful friend Mayada is doing everything she can to keep her family alive and raise money to help her father when care is available. I ask you to please open your heart to her and give whatever you can to help them during this horrible time. Donations from people outside of Gaza is the only source of income for people inside Gaza doing everything they can to stay alive.

As you can imagine, trying to deliver money inside a war zone is very difficult, but there are ways. The money you donate will go to my bank account and then transfer to her. This is what this platform requires. I promise you every penny you donate will go to Mayada, and I will cover all transfer fees.

Please give - no amount is too small.
Thank you,
Kory
