On 6/29/2022 Max & Brandy were headed home to Burnsville after visiting us for Brandy’s Birthday. They had been borrowing my car and they first got a flat in Hinkley which they changed with the spare. Just one mile outside of North Branch they got another flat. Max pulled the car so far over he was practically in the grass while they waited for us to travel down with replacement tires. Before we even left I got a call no Mother wants to get, the kids were screaming because they had just been hit by a semi that struck them and went into the ditch! They were terrified and injured. The careless driver called a tow truck for his semi before the police. The kids had to be taken by ambulance to the ER. The trooper said had they been six inches to the left the impact would have killed them. Their injuries have had a devastating financial impact on them. We have hired a personal injury lawyer but the process takes time. We have been personally driving back and forth weekly to get them or see them to make sure they have the basics they need. They are currently out of work due to loss of vehicle and injuries, they are at risk of being evicted from their apartment due to loss of income. They need transportation to see doctors. They need funds to purchase basic necessities like food for them and their fur babies. They need assistance to pay bills so they don’t lose their cellphone service and aren’t able to contact their attorney. This accident was 100% the semi drivers fault. The kids are suffering the consequences for his actions. Anything anyone can do to help these kids would be amazing.
