Help Matthew Tate’s Guardian Provide A Loving Home!

Hello, my name is Matt Vilaro & I’m asking for help to support a family in need. Matthew “Little Matt” Tate is like a little brother to me. I was introduced to him through my late father, Phil Vilaro. I’m asking for donations in order to help his guardian cover their expenses for a while, in order to get them to a point where they aren’t struggling with daily expenses & will be able to provide for Matthew long term (please read all the way through for full explanation). Through some previous donations in honor of my Dad’s memory & my personal financial support, we have been able to have get Matthew established in a loving home living with his paternal grandmother.

However, his grandmother has been on a fixed income plus had some short term health issues/costs (thankfully she’s feeling better now). Even with starting a new job, she’s had trouble covering their expenses as well as doing normal childhood things for Matthew (like gifts, field trips, sports programs, weekend outings, etc). Recently, we have been able to get her some assistance programs lined up that will make their life easier/affordable in the near future, but she still needs help in the interim. I have helped them considerably myself by donating a vehicle for the guardian to have reliable transportation, helping with groceries, daily expenses, covering utilities bills, buying Birthday/Christmas/Easter gifts, enrolling him in preschool/teeball, etc but one person can only do so much. Through your donations, you can help them get to a point where they aren’t struggling with expenses until the assistance programs can take effect in the following months so he will have a loving home for years to come!

(Back story) Long story short, my dad was dating Matthew’s maternal grandmother & Matthew’s living situation wasn’t the best. Social Services came to them & said if something wasn’t done he would have to go into the foster care system. My dad stepped in with no obligation & became Matthew’s full time caretaker for 3 years until he passed away in October. My dad came to love Matthew like a grandson, so I helped my Dad raise him.

The only person in Matthew’s family that was in any position to take care of him & give him a permanent loving home after my Dad’s passing was his paternal grandmother. She has been amazing & been selfless in what’s best for Matthew, but has had limited means to provide for him since he’s gone into her care. I’ve done everything in my power to make sure this amazing, innocent kid has a chance at a decent life after an early life of adversity (as I know my Dad would want that for him), but as you can imagine it’s difficult to support two households. With your help, you can make a big difference in this child’s life as his guardian will be able to turn the corner in the near future & provide for him long term!
