Hi I am Dana. I am writing this on behalf of my brother Matt Boatright, my sister-in-law Angela and my beautiful niece Aryanna.

In June of 2023 Matt had all his toes and front part of his foot amputated. Attempting to get back to work caused the infection to come back in his foot and set up in his trap muscle. He underwent two additional surgeries and a little more taken off his foot in September 2023. In January he had injured his foot around Christmas and had to fight for it to heal.

Matt has just returned to work in May 2024. One day in May - he thought he had pulled a muscle in his back. He was down 3 days when his family took him to the ER multiple times being told different things and sent home. He was in excruciating pain the entire time. They finally life flighted him to Renown Hospital in Reno where he went through a major back surgery and they opened up his entire back to remove multiple epidural abscesses down his spine. Following - he did a 6 week stint in a Rehabilitation Hospital in Susanville right after to watch for any signs of infection and to recover. He was doing ok and getting better.

After coming home, Matt had another incident and ended up back in the hospital with extreme pain in his back and numbness down his legs. On August 3rd the family found out that the infection decided to make itself present again in his lower spine and back in his foot.

As of yesterday August 7th he underwent another back surgery to remove the infection and parts of his spine. He is looking at a possible 2nd surgery.

As of 6pm tonight Matt has just been moved to surgery to amputate his leg below his knee. Just below the knee If all goes as planned.

Angela, Aryanna and his family are asking for so many prayers right now.

Due to Matt having to undergo possible more surgeries, rehabilitation, his loss of work/income for his family - any contributions to help his family continue to make multiple trips to the hospitals and give them a peace of mind while they try to make it through one of the hardest times in their life would be more than greatly appreciated.

Our small Community is the best and even the small things mean so much right now.

Update surgery Aug 8th - he was taken back at 6 pm. Surgery was to take around an hour. Family waited to hear how it went up around 11 pm. They amputated his leg from below the knee.

Aug 9th - Mathew is in extreme pain.

Aug 10th- Pain Management

Aug 11 - Back was opened up with 1st surgery more than what we were hoping for just like his last back surgery. Leg was wrapped tight to keep infection out. Still in a lot of pain but they are managing it better like clockwork. They are just trying to keep infection out and let him continue to heal and keep him and his mind as comfortable as possible right now.
