Our dearest friends, family, and colleagues of Matias (Matthew)! Words cannot express how much we appreciate the love, prayers, and financial support you have given to Matias over the last year. His battle against his cancer ended as Matias received his ultimate healing on April 23, 2026. Cancer may have conquered his body, but never his spirit! Your contributions helped Matias access therapies and treatments he would not have been able to receive without your support. We are praying his struggle will help others in the future.
We have included his obituary, but words fail to capture his amazing spirit until the very end. He died in peace with so much love poured out upon him from around the world. "Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter the joy of Christ's Kingdom!"

The Wounded Healer
This phrase, inspired by Carl Jung, captures the heart of our son, Matias
(Matthew) Baker who finds himself now on the “threshold of healing and illness.”
In May of 2025 Matias' life took a profound turn when he discovered he had advanced stage 4 cancer of the colon and liver resulting in surgery and a long future of treatments. Due to the spreading rate of cancer, Matias must approach his treatments with urgency. As a consequence, Matias and his family are setting up this GoFundMe page to meet several immediate goals.
Your help is urgently needed:
Matias and his family need your prayers and financial support. With your generosity, they would be able to meet current financial requirements for his treatment and future medical costs. He cannot begin some treatments without this financial support. You can help drastically improve his quality of life and help them welcome challenges with full courage.
Below is outline of the Goals that follow Matias' doctor's protocol, the cancer centers he is seeking admittance, and his research designed to help others.

Physical, Soul, and Spirit.
Matias, as a consultant, is self-employed and unable to work in the field during this phase of his healing. No work…no income! The expenses are significant but pale to the potential impact it will have upon his life and his future research.

Several years ago, Matias and Svava acquired a beautiful tract of land in the Sierras of northern California. Over time they formed a deep relationship to the land and slowly revealed its healing potential. This attracted many visions, but the land archetype showed a path for making a space where medicines could be made. This set the stage for aligning their work to pharmacies, pharmacists, and doctors and organizations within medicine. From this alliance with the medical community a first phase was formed to build a laboratory/healing sanctuary on the land for researching future remedies for Cancer. This task truly dovetailed itself to Matias' personal journey with Cancer and his future goal to help others on their journey and advance holistic medicine for Cancer related illnesses.
Background information:
Matias is the son of Jonathan & Donna Baker and brother of Elizabeth Baker Zlotkowski. Matias lives in Fair Oaks, California with Svava Carlsen. Her three grown children live in the Las Angeles area. He has dedicated himself to the healing of the earth through his consultant work in Biodynamic agriculture and has discovered how this practice can be applied to healing the imbalances we see today in Nature. This experience propelled his journey towards offering a consulting service to help others establish a spiritual culture with their land. This service led to the revitalization of thousands of acres of farmland, gardens, nature preserves and social organisms across the Americas.
As this journey expanded over the years, Matias was inspired to investigate further the school of Anthroposophical medicine and the pharmaceutical art of making remedies. Matias experienced how this approach of Medicine is directly in relationship with the Biodynamics approach to agriculture. Both approaches address the caliber of illnesses we are facing today in Nature and in the human organism. Out of this seeking Matias turned his focus to develop a research sanctuary/ lab for exploring the next chapters of this medicine and agriculture dynamic for the future.
