Update 10/24/25 - One Week Until Surgery

It’s hard to believe we’re just one week away from Mason’s next surgery. My heart is heavy, but I’m trying to stay strong for him — for my brave little boy who has already been through so much more than most adults ever will. Watching him prepare for another operation brings a mix of fear, hope, and deep gratitude for every person who’s been walking this road with us.

This time around, I’ll have to take time off work to care for Mason during his recovery. Unfortunately, that falls right when our rent and electric bill are due, which adds another layer of stress to an already emotional time. I hate asking for help, but being his mom means doing whatever it takes to make sure he has what he needs to heal.

To everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, or simply sent us love — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness has carried us through some of our darkest moments and given me the strength to keep going. Please continue to keep Mason in your thoughts and prayers as we count down the days to surgery.

My son Mason came into this world on May 2nd, 2021, and from the very beginning, he’s been a fighter. Shortly after birth, we learned that he was born with Neonatal Compartment Syndrome, a rare and painful condition that causes dangerous pressure to build up in his tiny limb, affecting its growth and function.

In his first month of life, Mason went through four surgeries — four times I had to hand my newborn baby over to surgeons and pray he’d come back to me safe. No parent should have to experience that, but Mason made it through each one with unbelievable strength and courage.

Now, at just four years old, Mason needs another surgery on Halloween. While most kids are picking out costumes and candy, my little boy will be in the hospital once again — fighting through pain most adults couldn’t bear.

As his mom, I’ll be right there beside him — holding his hand, comforting him, and doing everything I can to help him heal. But it’s not easy. I’ll have to take time off work to care for him, and right now, I’m struggling to keep up with bills, living expenses, and medical costs.

I’m asking for help — not because it’s easy, but because Mason deserves the best chance at recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward keeping our home stable, covering the time I’ll miss from work, and helping us get through this next chapter.

Mason has already overcome so much in his short life, and I know he’ll keep fighting — but we can’t do it alone.
