My name is Elizabeth Garcia, and I am the grandmother of my precious grandson, Mason. On January 9th, 2026, my 6-year-old grandson was found beaten and unresponsive due to horrific domestic violence at the hands of my daughter’s boyfriend. Mason suffered a broken arm, leg, and shoulder, along with a brain bleed, and was left unable to respond. The man responsible was arrested on January 11th and has been charged with child abuse, neglect, bodily harm, and torture. Mason is autistic and a beautiful, loving little boy with the purest soul. From the moment he was born, he has been a fighter. Mason was born a triplet, but tragically his brother and sister did not survive. Mason is our miracle — the only survivor — and he has fought for his life since day one. Right now, Mason is stable in the ICU, but he has a very long and difficult road ahead. As his grandmother, I cannot leave his side. I have had to step away from work so I can be there for him every moment — to comfort him, advocate for him, and remind him that he is loved beyond words. In addition to the overwhelming financial burden of being away from work and covering everyday living expenses, I am also facing a legal battle to gain full custody of Mason and his younger sister and brother. My goal is to protect them and provide a safe, loving home.
