Mason was involved in a collision while on his motorcycle on September 4th. He was struck by a vehicle that was attempting to turn left across a highway, and the driver didn’t see Mason. The collision caused two compound fractures and a broken ankle on his right leg, as well as fracturing his left knee and shin. He was airlifted and immediately put under for surgery, where they braced his left leg and installed titanium rods and braces into the bones of his right leg in order to immobilize it and connect the bones back together. He still has major open wounds on his right leg that need to be routinely cleaned to prevent infection from the asphalt grinding against it.

It is expected that he will be in the hospital for a minimum of six weeks, but he will be recovering for at least a year once discharged. Despite his injuries, Mason continues to keep his spirits high and make jokes, but the doctors mostly worry about his mental health due to the loneliness in the hospital and lack of mobility. Mason has a long road ahead of him for recovery, physical therapy, and maintaining his mental health.

This fundraiser is to help support him throughout his recovery. We would like to get him a new phone, as well as some things to help occupy his time and mind while in the hospital and at home. We also want him to be able to use this money for any kind of accessibility devices to help him get around at home, such as wheelchairs, walkers, or other devices for getting on and off furniture.

Anything that is donated is greatly appreciated and will directly go to Mason, except for funds for the phone that we would like to give him while in the hospital.
