Save Maryam’s family from hunger

My name is Kristina, I have gotten to know Maryam and her family through Instagram while they have been living a nightmare in their homeland. They, just like many others, desperately need assistance caring for their family and evacuating Gaza. I have created this page to help raise funds for the family. This is her message to you:

I am Maryam from the Gaza Strip. I am 35 years old. I am married and have two children, Muhammad and Mahmoud. I am now seven months pregnant. I was living happily with my husband and children in our beautiful house until October 7th came and the war on Gaza began.

Because of the war, I lost everything: my home, my job, and my husband's work. We became homeless, and because of death that always follows us I was displaced with my husband and children with all feelings of fear and pain, escaping from the bombing and under the showers of bullets on foot.

We searched for a safe place to take shelter. We did not find any place to take shelter and we spent a few days under the rain showers without shelter. We now live in a tent that does not protect us from the heat of summer nor the cold of winter. Life has turned into a mixture of suffering, pain and searching.

My children have suffered from diseases such as hepatitis due to polluted water and widespread diseases.

We face many difficulties. My family home and childhood home were demolished and my husband lost his job, which was our source of livelihood. We have nothing. The memories were erased, and because of the repeated death, we have been displaced for the third time. Amidst the bombing and destruction, my beautiful city has become a place of ghosts, unfit for life. We are now homeless and without a source of income.

Please help me save my family so we can live in peace. Help me to rebuild my life, restore my children's safety and help me to provide a decent life for my newborn. I do not want him to be born in these same poor, terrible health conditions we live in now.

**Update: I, Kristina, have changed the title of the fundraiser from helping Maryam evacuate Gaza to helping feed her family. Their priority was to evacuate safely to seek medical attention and safety. However as conditions in Gaza have worsened and prices for basic necessities have risen, Maryam is finding it more and more difficult to feed her family. Donations made are currently being used to try and purchase the bare minimum to help the family survive. Thank you for your continued support, it is much appreciated.
