For generations, Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum has been more than a place. It has been a feeling. It is the sound of laughter echoing through aisles of blinking lights. The clink of coins. The wonder on a child’s face the first time a mechanical figure springs to life. Created by the late Marvin Yagoda, this magical museum has welcomed families, first dates, longtime friends, and curious kids for decades. It is where memories are made and where time seems to stand still. Marvin did not just collect machines. He created joy. And that joy became part of our community.
Today, that magic is at risk. Due to redevelopment, the museum was forced to leave its longtime home in Farmington Hills. While we have secured a new and larger space at Orchard Mall, the journey has been far more difficult than anyone anticipated. Moving hundreds of delicate, irreplaceable machines, upgrading the new space, and protecting Marvin’s extraordinary collection has come with rising costs at every turn. We have truly tried to do this on our own. We stretched every dollar. We absorbed increasing expenses. We kept moving forward even when it felt overwhelming. Now we are in the home stretch. The doors can reopen. The lights can come back on. The laughter can return. We just need a little help to cross the finish line.
That is why we are asking the community who loves this place to stand with us. Your support will help us safely move and protect Marvin’s collection, complete the new museum space so it can welcome the public, and preserve this one-of-a-kind experience for future generations. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Every share helps spread the word. Every act of generosity brings us closer to reopening the doors. Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum is not just a museum. It is nostalgia. It is wonder. It is magic. Please consider donating today and helping us keep Marvin’s marvelous dream alive.
