Hello everyone,
My name is Marva Thompson, and I’m reaching out for support on behalf of my family in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, one of the parishes directly hit and severely affected by Hurricane Melissa. The storm caused severe damage to our family homes, leaving my 84-year-old mother out of her home and forcing several relatives across three generations to seek shelter wherever they can.
This tragedy has deeply affected our family’s sense of safety and belonging. Our home held decades of memories, love, and heritage — a place that brought together my mother, sisters, brothers, children, and grandchildren. Now, they are struggling to rebuild and start over after losing nearly everything.
I am raising funds to help provide housing, repairs, food, and essential supplies for my mother and our family as they recover from the storm’s destruction. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping them find comfort, stability, and hope again.
Your kindness, prayers, and generosity mean so much to us during this difficult time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with my family and helping us rebuild after Hurricane Melissa.
With gratitude,
Marva Thompson
