Jody is raising this fundraiser for Martina and her three sons after a devastating house fire destroyed the home in Rough and Ready on Thursday, October 8. Martina and Jared are separated, but many of Martina’s belongings and the boys’ things were still in the home when the fire happened. The fire began when their 9-year-old blind German shepherd accidentally turned on the stovetop while trying to reach a box of burrito wrappers, and the flames spread through the microwave vents to the ceiling and attic. Thankfully, everyone is safe, but the loss has been overwhelming. Their two beloved dogs did not survive, the kitchen was destroyed, and smoke and soot spread throughout the house, leaving the home and everything inside unusable. Along with the heartbreak of losing so much, Martina’s sons lost their clothes, toys, beds, and the familiar place they called home.

This fundraiser is specifically for Martina and her sons because Martina’s belongings and the boys’ essential items were also lost in the fire. The funds will help them begin rebuilding their lives by replacing clothing, beds, toys, furniture, and other everyday necessities, including Martina’s personal belongings that were still in the home. This has been an incredibly painful time as they grieve, recover, and try to move forward after such a sudden loss.
