Help Martha Immoos Get Back on the Road
Donation protected
This is a hard thing to ask, but at this point in all of our lives, everyone in the family is struggling to pay bills and keep food on the table. We have to put our pride aside and ask for donations. Martha Immoos has always been one to help others. For the last sixty years, she has provided food, transportation, clothing, housing, and emotional support to every human being who was struggling. She has fostered kids and counseled them, provided a safe place to stay when they had none or just needed a moment to appreciate where they came from.
At 79 years old, she is still attempting to help young people get ahead and become the best version of themselves. In doing so, she began taking one of our grandson's friends out to teach him to drive. I won't mention his name as I have no desire to embarrass him. However, he is a very nice young man with the best intentions. He is 21 years old. His parents could not afford to send him to driver's education classes, and so he still does not have a driver's license. Well, the young man was practicing driving last week, and the roads were wet. He was driving too fast, and when he tried to make a turn, he panicked and slammed on the brakes, sending Martha's van into hydroplane mode and up over the curb and into the guardrail they went. No one was injured.
Her van, however, is totaled, and since the young man was not listed on her insurance, none of the cost to replace the vehicle is covered. The young man and members of our family are all attempting to pitch in to replace the van, but we simply cannot reach our financial goal. At minimum, we need a down payment and we're asking for your help. If you can spare anything at all to assist in replacing Gaga's van, I promise you are more appreciated than you know. This is truly a humbling position to be in. Martha is retired finally and on a fixed income. I just recently lost my job and have taken a position with a very large reduction in pay. My daughter is working two jobs just to get by. There's simply only so much we can do. Martha's independence is very important to her. Please help if you can. Let's get her back behind the steering wheel.
