Help Marrakissa Village Dig A Well
Donation protected
We are raising funds for a new borehole for Marrakissa village in The Gambia to replace the presently nonfunctional one. Marrakissa is a small and poor village that relies on tenant farming. Reaching groundwater is very difficult in this region and it will be necessary to contract a company to dig as deep as 30 meters in order to reach clean groundwater. This borehole will give the village access to clean water when they currently have to travel over 20km to the nearest clean water well. The $4,500 will be to pay a private company that will dig and plumb a new borehole for the village.
