Hi, my name is Maritza. I’m a mother doing my best to protect and provide for my 6 children after escaping an abusive situation. Right now, we are living in a hotel, and I’m reaching out because we need help covering our stay so we don’t end up on the streets. Leaving an abusive relationship is never easy, and I’ve had to make hard decisions to keep my kids safe. We’ve been through a lot emotionally, mentally, and financially. I took the steps to protect us legally and physically, but that came with a cost. Without stable housing or support, we’ve been staying in a hotel, trying to piece life back together one day at a time.

I’m doing everything I can—applying for resources, looking for stable housing, and staying strong for my babies—but right now we’re in a tight spot. Our hotel stay is due, and without help, we risk losing even this temporary roof over our heads. We're in a small town with no resources, a full shelter that has no room for us, and no transportation—not even Uber. The funds raised will go directly toward covering the hotel costs and helping us stay safe and warm while I work toward more permanent solutions.
