Help Maria’s Family Rebuild After Devastating Accident

Hi, my name is Suzy Esposito and I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Angel Ramirez’s daughter, Maria, and her two beautiful daughters, Rose (8) and Genevy (12).

On May 19th at 11:45 PM, tragedy struck in the most unimaginable way. A drunk teenage driver lost control of a truck, crashing into Maria’s home in Parkland, WA. The truck slammed into the front door, the living room, and one of her children’s bedrooms. Miraculously, no one was physically hurt — a true blessing. But the aftermath has been devastating both emotionally for the family and structurally for the home.

The owner of the truck was uninsured, and although Maria’s homeowner’s insurance is stepping in, the damage is extensive. The crash not only tore through key living areas of the home, but it also caused serious structural damage, compromising the roof and several support walls leaving parts of the home exposed to the elements and unsafe. These critical repairs are complex and costly, further delaying the family’s return.

To make matters worse, the damage exposed hidden asbestos, which means everything inside — clothes, toys, furniture, food — was contaminated and must be discarded and replaced.

Maria, Vicente, their daughters, and their new puppy are currently living in a hotel and will soon transition into a temporary rental. They’re expected to be displaced for at least nine months while their home is fully repaired.

While insurance is covering the home repairs and temporary housing, there are many out-of-pocket expenses that will not be covered:

Replacing all personal belongings (clothing, furniture, toys, electronics, school supplies)

Restocking their refrigerator and pantry

Everyday essentials for a family suddenly starting from scratch

Costs related to temporary housing and transportation
