Help Marianna Thrive in Law School!
Donation protected
Hi folks, my name is Marianna! I am 26-year-old, physically disabled, Canadian woman studying Law at the University of Leicester! I am in my second year, and I absolutely love the UK and everything I am learning here. The legal system is lacking the intersectional lens, needed to provide marginalized communities the space to share their lived experiences and to make them feel supported in a system that historically and continually oppresses and others them. It is my mission to do my part towards positive social change and to reimagine the legal system, at large! Anything helps to make my dream become a reality! I have finally obtained a loan from TD Bank, which has helped me pay off the remaining balance from my first-year tuition as well as the full tuition balance for my second year. I am privileged to be able to attend school as a disabled person, let alone internationally. Gaining access to a loan is not easy and I do not take this once in a lifetime opportunity lightly. It is difficult, and I still need help because living in a world that was not built with you in mind is exhausting and most of all expensive.
Any money raised will be going towards things that the loan does not cover including but not limited to:
- Residence fees (housing is separate from tuition fees) = $8,500 CAD for the school year
- Groceries = $80 CAD per week
- Unexpected daily living needs
*I have applied for many scholarships and OSAP and have not heard back… I will update you with complete transparency, as needed*
Anything you can offer is appreciated and will help me tremendously on the way to achieving my dream of becoming a lawyer. Thank you for your support!
