Hi everyone, I’m Marianna. I’m writing to you today to share an update on my path toward becoming a lawyer. As a physically disabled woman, my mission has always been clear: to be a voice for the "underdog" and to fight for justice with the grace and humility that comes from overcoming immense systemic barriers.

A few years ago, I shared the exciting news of my acceptance into the University of Leicester in the UK. Since then, I have navigated the rigors of international legal studies, proving time and again that my determination far outweighs the challenges placed before me.

The Financial Reality

While I am incredibly proud of my academic success, the financial burden of pursuing a law degree abroad has been significant.

Total Tuition: The cost for my program was approximately $27,500.

Funding Gaps: While I received some support from OSAP, it only covered a portion of the total costs and did not fully account for tuition or the unique expenses associated with my disability.

The TD Student Loan: To bridge this gap and ensure I could complete my education, I had to secure a student loan through TD.

As I near the point where I can fully step into my role as an advocate for others, this debt remains a substantial hurdle. I am now asking for your help once again to pay back this TD student loan so I can focus on my career without the crushing weight of this debt holding me back.

Why This Matters:

I know what it is like to be told that my existence is a burden or that I won't amount to anything. Instead of internalizing that, I use it as fuel to listen, confirm facts, and make compelling arguments for those who are often ignored by the legal system.

By helping me clear this financial obstacle, you aren't just paying back a loan—you are investing in a future lawyer who will spend her life ensuring the most vulnerable among us have someone knowledgeable and firm in their corner.
