Hello everyone! My name is Mariann and I am a teacher at a school in Downtown Stockton. I just completed my 21st year of teaching.

Last school year I had quite a few eye opening experiences I had not had before. First one being when a student told me “she doesn’t like being at school when it rains because she had holes in the bottom of her shoes and her feet always got wet.” Another student not wearing a sweater on a super cold morning because “it’s laundry day so I couldn’t wear it this morning.” These conversations broke my heart to have with my students so I went and bought a pair a of shoes for the one student and another sweatshirt for the other student.

I came up with the idea and a space for a Care/Clothing Closet. At the end of the school year, my principal approved for me to open this Closet to help our students/families at our school starting off the new school year.

I wish I could afford to fund this project in my own, however I can’t. If you can help the students and families at my school will forever be grateful!
