If you know Mariah, you know she is kind, caring, brilliant, and endlessly selfless - which is exactly why she’s going to make an incredible doctor. While attending a rotation in San Francisco, her apartment building in Fort Worth (where she attends medical school) caught fire. She lost almost everything, aside from what she had in her suitcase and the few belongings she was able to recover.

Already burdened by medical school debt, Mariah is now faced with the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding her life from scratch. She’s about to graduate and begin residency with very little to her name.
