Our dear friend Maria Novak spent the last several months selflessly helping care for her beloved mother, Suzanna “Sue” Novak, who passed away on June 17, 2025.

Maria returned to Ohio from Florida to be close to her mom during this time, offering her care, love, and support through her final chapter. Sue was a kind, faithful, and generous woman whose warmth touched so many lives—and Maria embodies those same qualities.

Sadly, just days after Sue’s passing, an electrical fire broke out in the house Maria had been staying in. The home is now damaged and without electricity, and Maria finds herself not only grieving the loss of her mother, but also facing serious financial and housing challenges.

Maria would never ask for help on her own—but we know she needs it now.

We are raising funds to help ease the burden and give Maria the chance to rebuild with dignity and peace of mind. Donations will go directly toward:

• Funeral expenses not fully covered by Sue’s life insurance

• Emergency housing and repairs following the fire

• Living expenses while Maria works to stability
