My name is Maria and I am raising $25k for a down payment on a home for my me and my daughter Amor she is 3 years old.

I am a 25 year old single mom to a beautiful 3 year old her name is Amor. I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI and my daughter was also born there. Unfortunately due to housing being unaffordable in the Ann Arbor MI that pushed us out further into the Ohio area.

I work from home full time 9-6pm Monday through Friday (including every other Saturday) & I am a stay at home mom.

Back on December 4th of 2024 I applied for the Avalon housing lottery for the affordable housing units for the Grove at Veridian county farm in Ann Arbor. January 29th I was emailed that I was not chosen for the housing because 7,000 people applied for the 20 units available that were income based.

I have also attempted section 8 housing. I have been on the list since last year with no luck. All of the housing properties are closed. The only two available are for seniors.

Around February of this year I found a realator from the Kathy Toth group & she has been helping me try to buy a home for my daughter and myself. I was approved for a loan through cross country mortgage for up to $120,000. I found a home after a long search in a good area. I meet the income & credit score requirements. The only problem is that they need 25% down(price is $98,000) so we are looking at $25,000 for down payment. They do NOT accept government grants and they want the down payment in cash.

I am asking if you would find it in your heart to help me and my daughter secure housing. This opportunity would allow me to keep my job and would be very affordable for the both of us. The cooperative has an HOA which includes utilities, this would help me get back on my feet and not worry about housing. This place is in a good area with little to no crime & is in a very good school district near the Macomb County.

I am taking a leap of faith for my daughter to be able to go to a good school and have a good home. I am able to cover the earner down payment myself and closing costs. I also was approved for $120K financing from the lender I have been working with for financing.
