Help Maria Aid War Victims in Ukraine

My legal name is Mary Spencer. My true name is Maria Sabolotnyi, a first-generation Ukrainian filled with incredible regret at the heritage I have lost at the age of 68. I should have endured my personal challenges to protect that which I truly love more than almost anything on earth—my Ukrainian heritage.

Now, I have lost contact with the scores of family members who lived in the vicinity of Lviv when this atrocious war broke out. I have no idea how many have survived, where they are, or how they are doing. There is not even postal service available in Ukraine. There is no hope for me to help that precious commodity in life—my family. But . . . I can put my energies into helping those most in need by helping Hope for Ukraine. It has a stellar reputation, virtually all donations go into helping victims rather than administration, and its main focus is the most basic of needs of these victims of war.

I cannot help my family by “blood” but I can make a heartfelt appeal to help my wider family. No donation is too small. I live on my Social Security pension and so cannot offer a substantial amount myself, but I can do this to spread word of the need.
