Hope For Ukraine

My name is Hayden, I'm nine years old, and I want to help change the world.

Last year, I took a trip to Romania and spent a few days at an orphanage for children who had lost their parents to the war. What I saw there opened my eyes to some of the big problems in the world. I saw kids who were living in poverty, far away from home, who couldn't escape their dire circumstances.

Now, I'm taking an entrepreneurship class to learn about earning money, and I decided I wanted to use my new skills to help other people, so I started Blue Lemonade, a lemonade stand dedicated to raising money for kids in the Ukraine.

Our hearts are breaking for more than 4.3 million Ukrainian children who have been displaced because of the attack on Ukraine. This includes more than 1.8 million who have fled with their mothers to other countries, where there is limited access to schools and essential supplies. This horrific war has severely threatened their education and well-being. We felt the need to help with a concert to raise money and awareness. We also thought it was important to show the kids of NJ they can help too.

Hello! My name is Shylea, and I'm a member of Ukraine Youth Action Network.

Ukraine Youth Action Network (UYAN) is a global collective of students banding together to aid Ukraine in the midst of the ongoing war. Students from all over the world, Ukraine included, work in joint to provide assistance. Our personal goal, however, is to help Ukrainian students maintain normalcy via education.

We have elected to assist Hope For Ukraine (HFU). HFU is a charity that has been working in Ukraine for quite some time now.

In regards to education, they provide after-school programs and counseling services, as well as special needs equipment and supplies. Additionally, they partner with Let's Shake Hands to ensure Internet access for online academics. Any funds raised will go directly to Hope For Ukraine to aid in the effort to continually provide education for Ukrainian students.

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be deprived of an education? It is UYAN's belief that education is a basic right - something you should never have to worry about. Yet, this is the reality for so many Ukrainian students right now. Yes, it may seem bleak, but we, as donors, have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who are currently experiencing situations out of their control. By choosing to contribute financially, we can each provide a small glint of hope in these trying times.

Hope for Ukraine uses your donation money to purchase food both in Poland and the USA, and to then transport that food to people who need it inside Ukraine.  They also distribute donated clothing to internally displaced citizens, as well as food and medical supplies to frontline soldiers.  In addition, Hope for Ukraine operates two shelters in Lviv, providing refugees with food, medical attention, and daycare for children.

Hope for Ukraine is an extremely effective organization, capable of providing food for 1 person for a whole month for just $50!  That said, their financial needs continue to increase, while donations have begun to decrease.

The assault on Ukraine by Russia is barbaric and entirely unjustified.
