Hello! We are Scott and Lisa Hamilton. We are setting this fundraiser up as support for Lisa's sister Margo and her 3 month old son, William Thor. William is the 5th child of Margo and her husband, Olaf. When Margo was pregnant she was told that the baby had a heart condition, tetralogy of Fallot, for which the baby would need surgery within 6 months after birth. During her pregnancy she was followed by pediatric cardiology and there was a planned C-Section to help alleviate stress of birth for the baby. A week before her scheduled C-Section, her water broke. She had to be life-flighted to Pittsburgh for a safe delivery. William Thor was born on September 8, 2021. Childbirth went well and both Margo and William did beautifully with a lot of prayers and support for both of them. After birth he was diagnosed with Tyrosinemia Type I, which is a genetic disorder, which affects the body's ability to break down proteins. William's sister also has this disorder, which is treated by a specific diet and medication. A little over a week ago, William's father was diagnosed with COVID. All 5 of the children were then tested for COVID. On or about December 5, 2021, William started to develop slight symptoms, not wanting to eat, not acting his normal self. His oxygen saturation was also running on the low side. Margo contacted the doctor and was instructed to watch his oxygen level and if it stayed above 85 to stay home, monitor and treat accordingly. On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, two of the five children were also diagnosed with COVID. William and his sister. His sister is asymptomatic. William developed increased congestion, and on the evening of Wednesday, December 8, 2021 he vomited and then became listless. Margo called 911 and they were taken to the local hospital, from there William was life-flighted to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. He is currently in ICU and needs to have the heart surgery soon. He has been having tet spells.  They ideally want him to have the surgery that was being planned for March, now. Due to COVID, though, and his health at the moment he may not be able to have that surgery for a couple of weeks. If they cannot do that surgery he will have to have 2 other surgeries for his heart. Margo is in the hospital with him but she cannot have contact with anyone else. I am asking for financial support for Margo, William and their family. Margo will not be able to work while they are in the hospital, but we would like for her to be able to stay with William as long as she can. Margo is a physical therapist, and they depend on her salary to survive. She should be able to get a family leave, but that is only a percentage of her salary. We are also asking for prayers for strength and healing for Margo, William and their family. We thank anyone who can offer any kind of support.
