Today, our hearts are heavy. In the early morning hours of Friday, April 24th (while they were at work) our dear friends Marcus and Ammie lost their home in a devastating fire. In a matter of moments, everything they built their life around was gone. Their clothes, important documents like birth certificates, and irreplaceable personal belongings—all reduced to ash. Most heartbreakingly, they lost something that can never be replaced: her daughter’s ashes.
In the midst of this tragedy, there has been a small light of hope. A kind stranger stopped and helped release their animals from the home. Their dog has been found safe, but their cat is still missing, and we are holding onto hope that they will be reunited soon. Right now, Marcus and Ammie are facing the unimaginable task of starting over from nothing. The Red Cross has provided some immediate assistance, but long-term recovery will take time, resources, and community support. Their most urgent needs are a camper they can place on their property for shelter, along with funds for food, clothing, and basic essentials as they begin to rebuild their lives piece by piece.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Every dollar, every share, and every kind word helps bring them one step closer to stability, comfort, and healing. Let’s come together and show Marcus and Ammie that they are not alone—that even in the darkest moments, there is a community ready to lift them back up. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
